20+ years in telecom equipment

About Us

Telecom Recycling exists because decommissioning telecom and IT equipment is more complicated than it should be — and most businesses don't have the time or specialist knowledge to do it properly.

Our background

We've been buying and trading telecom equipment for over 20 years. That background gives us a practical understanding of what equipment is worth, how it moves through secondary markets, and what responsible disposal actually requires — not in theory, but in practice. We started as equipment traders and expanded into recycling and disposal as it became clear that many of our customers needed a single, trusted partner who could handle the full decommission process, not just the resale of the best items.

We operate primarily across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, working with network operators, managed service providers, data centre operators, and enterprise IT teams. The scale of jobs we handle varies considerably — from a single rack of surplus switches to multi-site decommissions involving thousands of items. What stays consistent is the process: documented collection, data destruction where required, WEEE-compliant disposal, and straightforward payment for equipment that has residual value.

Our approach to sustainability is practical rather than aspirational. We prioritise resale and refurbishment over recycling because extending the working life of equipment is a better environmental outcome than breaking it down for materials. Where recycling is the only option, we use approved authorised treatment facilities and do not send equipment to landfill. On compliance, we take the position that documentation should be thorough enough to be useful — not just a box-ticking exercise — which is why we issue device-level certificates of destruction and WEEE transfer notes as standard.

How we work

Transparency

We provide clear valuations with a breakdown by item or lot, and we explain our methodology. If equipment has no resale value, we say so upfront.

Compliance

WEEE regulations, GDPR data destruction obligations, and chain of custody documentation are not optional extras — they are part of every job we do.

Sustainability

Resale and refurbishment come before recycling. We do not send equipment to landfill, and we can provide a recycling report showing how your equipment was processed.

Experience

Over 20 years of telecom equipment trading means we understand the secondary market, know what equipment is worth, and can move quickly on valuations.
